The Bag Making Bible by Lisa Lam

The Bag making bible by Lisa Lam is exactly what is says on the tin, a complete source of information, a 'bible', for those who want to make bags themselves. No real prior knowledge of bag making is needed, as  Lisa guides you step by step though making the simplest tote, to the complex hold-all. As a novice bag maker myself, this book made me believe I could actually make really professional looking bags.
The clear step by step instructions, alongside the descriptive colour pictures are a tremendous help, as is the fact that it talks you through colour and fabric selection in order to get the best results.
All the detailing for these bags are explained, showing you how to do a lot things that you can apply to dressmaking too - techniques such as 'How to create and use bias binding' that are generally very useful to know!  Cherelle Abrams
